I’ve been told by the loving volunteers at the Burbank Animal Shelter that they are at full capacity, which means they might have to start putting animals down. If you have been thinking about adopting a pet, this is the week to do it! They’ve been especially inundated by kitties due to a rescue from a hoarding situation.
“We are at the beginning of our kitten season as well, so we are in extra need of loving homes for these special kitties. With so many cats, you can bet there are a variety of looks and personalities.” (Burbank Animal Shelter)
If you love cats, but can’t can’t adopt one for your own, you might consider taking part in the Kitten Foster Program. Here’s the scoop:
We are looking for people who are willing to commit to caring for one or more kittens in their home until they become ready for adoption. Responsibilities may include bottle feeding, cleaning, medicating and socializing the kittens. Training is provided. All expenses for food and medical care are paid for by the Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter. You can make a difference to the homeless kittens found in our city by participating in this wonderful program. For more information please contact our Kitten Foster Volunteer Recruiter, Christine Hoffman at (661) 476-7262 or christine@basv.org. A volunteer application must be filled out and approved prior to acceptance.
Again, there are lots of cats and dogs who need loving homes, so check out the Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter website to see who is up for adoption. I wish I could take them all home with me. If you can’t adopt an animal, but would like to help, consider donating your time or money to the shelter. They are always in need of extra help.
