pellicola04Ooh, this sounds fun! TCM Classic Film Festival started on April 22nd and is continuing through the weekend in. Basically, it’s a bunch of old classic films being shown on the big screen at various theaters around Hollywood. Casablanca, North By Northwest, The Graduate—you name it. They’re all playing this weekend. There are still passes left to purchase (although it looks like they’re running out quickly), and you can also get individual tickets for around $20 at the theaters at the time of the show.

There are a lot of other things happening at the festival besides movie-watching. There’s the film festival boutique, various panels about making movies, special guests and interviews. You’ll definitely want to check out the TCM Classic Film Festival website for all the details. Times and locations vary, so check out the “schedule” section on the site.

About the TCM Classic Film Festival

When TCM launched in 1994, our goal was to create a haven for classic movie fans.  Since then, we’ve been committed to showing the widest range of classic movies possible, celebrating the greatest stars and filmmakers of all time and treating their work with the respect it deserves.  Our desire has been to give people the chance  to discover movie gems that they might not have seen.  We’ve also introduced a whole new audience to the world of classic movies.

We enjoy sharing our passion for these films with you.  We want TCM to be not just a television network, but a community, a place where watching and discussing great movies connects people.

We also know that, as great as watching TCM can be, there’s something particularly special about seeing a motion picture, new or classic, projected on a big screen, with a live audience to share the experience and talk about it afterwards.  With this in mind, we’re very pleased to announce we will inaugurate the first ever TCM Classic Film Festival, taking place April 22-25, 2010, where we can all meet in person.

I was trying to come up with a clever line from an old classic film to end this post, but I’m drawing a blank. So why don’t you give us a line from your favorite classic movie?
