| No CommentThe Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter are hosting kitten adoptions in the conference room at the Burbank Animal Shelter (1150 N. Victory Place) every Saturday from 11am-3pm. There are many colors, sizes and personalities to choose from. All kittens have been lovingly raised by the volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter and are ready for immediate adoption. For more information please contact Anne 818-469-3937 or cal-mac@pacbell.net.
The Burbank Animal Shelter is devoted to providing medical, social, behavioral and financial care for animals at risk and determined to eliminate animal homelessness in the Burbank community. The volunteers are committed to educating the community about the benefits of spay/neuter, proper pet care and pet adoption. They have also established a successful medical program, senior pet therapy program and kitten foster program.
If you can’t make it to the kitten adoptions on Saturday, check out some of the other options offered. You can look at the selection of cats on the shelter’s website and make an appointment to meet them. You can also sponsor a kitten. The VBAS Kitten Foster Program was established in 2001 in response to the overwhelming kitten population in the Burbank area. In 2008, they fostered over 350 kittens who otherwise would have no one to care for them and would be euthanized. You can help save a kitten’s life for a donation of $42.
Want to help, but can’t adopt a kitty? Use your Ralph’s card! The Ralph’s Reward Card allows you to choose the Burbank Animal Shelter as your Community Contribution Organization, providing donations at no additional cost to you. Buy groceries; help a kitten. Sounds good to me!
You can also donate your time and become a volunteer at the shelter. In order to qualify to become a volunteer, applicants must be 18 years of age or older, commit to 8 hours per month for a minimum of 6 months and undergo a minimal police background check which is required by the City of Burbank. Approved volunteers may choose to assist in any of the following categories: dog care, cat care, rabbit care, administrative tasks, Senior Pet Therapy, kitten fostering or assisting the veterinarian staff. Before completing an application form, each prospective applicant must first attend an orientation.
