happy_veggieYou know, for a self-proclaimed meat-a-sauras, I know a lot about the vegan lifestyle. I attribute this to my good friend’s commitment to being a vegan. Since her decision a year ago, I’ve had many vegan meals and I’ve been in the know of all the L.A. vegan events. While we don’t always share the same views on food and life, I applaud her and other vegans for their passion and commitment. So I’d like to pass on the news for this month-long vegan event. Every day in September, there will be vegan meet-ups and celebrations all over L.A.,  including Burbank. The goal of this event series is to prove that being vegan in the L.A. area is very possible and to celebrate the vegetarian and vegan community that already exists.

Thursday, September 24 – Mindful Nest in Burbank (3319 W. Magnolia) will be hosting Valley Green Drinks from 7 – 10 pm. RSVP to rsvp@positivetelevision.org. Mindful Nest is a new store in Burbank dedicated to creating affordable, handmade crafts designed by owners Diane Jackson, Amanda Vernon and Jennifer Hardaway.

All the events have some vegan food component to them. Not all of the restaurants and parties are totally vegan, but they all have vegan options. Most events require an RSVP. If you want to create your own vegan event during the month of September, just send an email to rsvp@positivetelevision.org and they will try to add your event to the calendar.
