easter_chicks_005.JPGI can’t believe I’m already talking about Easter! But it’s only about a month away, so there will be plenty of egg hunts and spring activities coming up for the kiddies.  The Magnolia Park neighborhood is hosting the free Egg-Cellent Magnolia Bicycle Tour and Treasure Hunt for kids and families on Saturday, April 3 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Here’s more info from the folks at Burbank Wire:

When riders register at Chandler Bikeway and California Street, they will receive an egg-cellent gift and treasure map filled with tempting treats. They will also be able to participate in a bicycle and helmet decorating contest, enjoy free bicycle tune-ups courtesy of the Burbank Recycle Center, learn road safety tips from Burbank Bike, join in free arts and crafts activities, and check out other community based organizations.

Once riders complete their self-guided treasure hunt and get stamped at 10 locations, they will be automatically entered to win incredible grand prizes from Magnolia Park merchants…

The Egg-Cellent Magnolia Bicycle Tour is presented by Magnolia Park Partnership, the not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the Magnolia Park District. The area includes an established residential neighborhood of more than 3,000 homes and hundreds of community serving businesses on Magnolia Boulevard between Buena Vista and the city limit, and Hollywood Way between Clark and Chandler. Other events produced by the Magnolia Park Partnership include Be-Boppin’ in the Park in August and Holiday in the Park in November.

Additional sponsors include Burbank Bike, a City of Burbank sponsored program aimed at promoting bicycling as an environmentally sustainable transportation alternative that serves as a simple method to reduce traffic congestion, and the Public Works Burbank Recycle Center, leading the way to Zero Waste.

Did you know that Magnolia Park won a Calfest Award? I just discovered that after visiting their site. Magnolia Park Partnership received 1st Place for “Best T-Shirt Design” for Be-Boppin’ in the Park, the four-block street festival and retro car show that occurs every August on Magnolia Boulevard. The CalFest Awards program recognizes the top innovative ideas and promotional materials for festivals and events in California and Nevada, with entries judged on originality, creativity, style and substance.  Nice work, Magnolia Park!
